Do you know what the Pink Tax is? We didn’t either. The average woman pays an extra $1,351 on basic products and services every year, just for being a woman. They call it the Pink Tax. Many are calling it unacceptable. For this month of April, The European Wax Center is raising a pink brow against the pink tax by offering 13.51% off one product or service AND FREE pink brows in center for every guest (if desired!). Women deserve equal prices for equal products!!
Westport Maker Faire THIS Saturday!
The 7th annual Maker Faire Westport will be this Saturday in downtown Westport. This is Connecticut’s largest event focused on creativity and innovation. The organizers are planning on a record 12,000+ attendees. Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire Westport is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Maker Faire Westport to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
Meet Stacie!
New-ish to Westport, Stacie is a mom (and entrepreneur!) not to be missed. In addition to being an actor, singer and songwriter who has performed on Broadway for nearly a decade, most notably as Glinda in Wicked, she is also a teacher, arts advocate, and mom to two curious and creative daughters. She is also most recently the co-writer of the children’s album Harmonize, and creator of the Harmonize Kidz arts enrichment program which uses her music to teach social and emotional learning to elementary students. Stacie will sing original songs from her album at a not to be missed family concert to benefit Sandy Hook Promise on May 19th in Newtown. In her free time, Stacie loves hip-hop, craves a perpetually hot cup of coffee, and wishes she never stopped taking piano lessons. Welcome to Westport Stacie; we are so glad you are here!
