A Spring Hosting Menu That Keeps You Out of the Kitchen and In the Moment

Spring celebrations should feel fresh, thoughtful, and surprisingly easy. At ONTHEMARC, our success comes from planning ahead and considering every detail. That same approach applies to hosting at home, so we curated a menu of dishes that feel elevated without requiring hours in the kitchen. Think make-ahead, reheat-friendly, and made to impress.

Meet Molly of Hemma Kitchen

Meet Molly of Hemma Kitchen

Mom of three little ones, and a native of Westport, Molly launched Hemma Kitchen (a weekly food delivery service) out of her love for food and her passion for creating beautiful meals that nourish and delight. Originally in fashion school with hopes of being a fashion writer, Molly realized her love for food and cooking trumped all, and she went on to become a classically trained chef. After time in LA and working in catering and at restaurants, including Blue Hill at Stone Barnes, she realized she wanted to work for herself, creating her own projects that have purpose. Molly swears by spaghetti and the Armchair Expert podcast, and in another life might live in Maine and be a trapeze master! Her food is delicious, nutritious and made with love; check out her latest menu for inspo!

Meet Sarit, Founder of House of Yes Bars!

Meet Sarit, Founder of House of Yes Bars!

A Westport native, Sarit returned with her family in 2019 and has two kids she is thrilled to be raising here. Though she and her husband were ready to open a restaurant just before COVID hit, they pivoted and as they recognized what a picky eater they had with their son, began experimenting in the kitchen trying to find healthy, protein-filled options her kids would eat. From there, HOUSE OF YES was born! In her spare time, Sarit loves a good historical fiction novel and any true crime show, doesn’t go anywhere without a Yeti full of ice-water, loves cheese and coffee, and has a sneaker addiction/collection topping 80 pairs! Sarit loves sharing her passion for creating with her community, and for those who havent tried the HOUSE OF YES bars, get on it- your kids will thank you!

A Westport Neighbor Making a Quiet, Lasting Impact

A Westport Neighbor Making a Quiet, Lasting Impact

In a town like Westport, there are many people who give back. Some do it visibly. Others do it quietly, year after year, without asking for recognition. For more than four decades, Bill Evans has been one of those quiet pillars of our community. A Westport resident for over 40 years, Bill is best known locally as the founder of WM Evans Painting, a family painting business he established in 1981 that many neighbors have welcomed into their homes. But beyond his professional life, Bill has dedicated decades to humanitarian work that has touched lives far beyond Fairfield County. Learn more….

Jackie most recently binge watched Tell me Lies (for work of course!), and most recently interviewed Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, the real-life couple who play Lucy and Stephen, and the cast when they held a press day and premiere party! In her free time, she loves playing tennis, spending time with her daughter, and loves listening to the podcast, Call Her Daddy. Jackie is a gem of a person, and a ton of fun to talk to; we’re lucky to have her in our community!

Around the middle of January is when the sheen of new holiday toys begins to wear off, and even the most patient parents can hit their limit. To help you through the next few weeks, we’re sharing 10 smart ways to keep kids engaged – and there’s not a screen in sight. (Not that we’re against screens…we just know from experience that relying on them too much to occupy kids can have a pretty ugly rebound effect…)
