Meet Fred and Greg (our "dads")

Meet Fred and Greg (our "dads")

While these two dads may seem remarkably similar (both work at Bridgewater, both love golf – one slightly more than the other!- and both are often willing to hold down the fort at any bar on a Saturday night), they met fortuitously through their wives (go us!) just 5 years ago. Fred and Greg both have older daughters and younger sons, and love spending time with them at the Beach, on hikes (Fred) and at Longshore (Greg). Some may not know that Fred loves playing the piano and the always up for a good time Greg embraces his quiet time at home with the kids. While they both claim that we keep their lives in order and help them be the best dads they can be, on this Father’s Day, we are grateful to them for loving us, our kids, and for supporting us on this journey.

Meet Greg!

Meet Greg!

If you don’t already know Greg, he is certainly someone to watch! A Westport dad of two boys, he has sparked his own personal passion via involvement in local politics, and is currently running for the CT House of Representatives as a way to ensure Westport and the state of CT remain a great place for families to live. He somewhat regrets not working more in education (and also thinks he may have missed his opportunity to be an NFL QB…=)), and hopes as a state government representative, he can really make a difference where we need It. Many may not know he is a Vegan, who swears by iced coffee, any and all things Compo Beach, and gets his workouts in by doing sit ups and push ups with his boys. Greg cares about people, and our town, and about CT at large. If you haven’t met him, keep an eye out; he is undoubtedly – in Westport fashion – making waves.

How Gross is it Not to Wash Your Water Bottle Every Day

How Gross is it Not to Wash Your Water Bottle Every Day

Admit it, you’ve skipped a day (or maybe five) without giving your reusable water bottle a proper scrubbing. Which is your favorite rationalization? “It’s just water in there,” “I washed it yesterday,” or maybe “It’s BPA-free, so I’m good?” Staying hydrated and doing you part for the environment by opting for a reusable bottle are commendable, but don’t sabotage those healthy habits by exposing yourself to potentially unhealthy and harmful bacteria. Find out how germy those bottles get if you skip daily washings from nutritionist, Dana White!

Meet Craig!

Meet Craig!

If you often see a dad around Westport who looks very familiar but you cannot figure out how you know him, chances are it’s because you usually see him when you are drinking coffee while watching NBC News or as the co-anchor of The Today show Saturday edition (and many weekdays now too). Craig Melvin is a Westport dad of two, who balances reporting on topical issues that matter most while also making his family feel like his number one priority. When Craig is not working he loves to spend time with his family at Compo Beach, Saugatuck Sweets, or grab dinner at Dunville’s. He loves Bourbon, the Carolina Panthers, and is grateful for Twitter for keeping him in the know. Though reporting runs crazy hours, he loves what he does, and even met his wife – Westport Mom, Lindsay Czarniak, and rockstar reporter and sports anchor – doing it! Together, Lindsay & Craig are a force to be reckoned with on and off the TV, and we are so lucky that they chose Westport to call home.
