During the holiday season, when so many of us are looking to give to others less fortunate, or instill in our kids the importance of helping others, Jimeale Heade’s name often comes up. Jimeale is a Fairfield mom with 3 kids (5, 4, and 2) who had a life changing moment when she was volunteering in a Bridgeport school a few years back, and was told there weren’t enough pencils for all of the kids in the class. She took it upon herself to start the Brighter Lives for Kids Foundation, which runs programming in Bridgeport ranging from backpack school supply and toy drives to setting up soccer programs and libraries for those who never had exposure to things so many of us take for granted. In her spare time, she loves skiing, Bonda restaurant and swears by La Mer Cleanser. She also reads the last chapter of every book before the first! Thank you Jimeale for inspiring so many of us to do more in this world!

Though boutique fitness studios seem to be on every corner these days, Amy Hochhauser and Rhodie Lorenz were the first ones to enter this market back in 2011. Amy (a lawyer by trade) and Rhodie ((a mom who just needed an child-free hour of peace so became a spin instructor)) were introduced and shortly thereafter, opened Joyride Cycling Studio, which has evolved into a larger fitness concept, offering boxing, bootcamps, and so much more! Amy has two boys, loves family nights at Colony Pizza, and lives by the motto “This too shall pass.” Rhodie is mom to three, swears by Bar Taco, the app Drizly (check this one out!), and believes her missed calling may have been as a back-up dancer. Amy and Rhodie are passionate, driven, and successful entrepreneurs who have brought tremendous strength (pun intended) and JOY (pun also intended) to this community!
