Chris Herren, a basketball legend from Fall River, Massachusetts, realized his dreams by playing for the Celtics in the NBA, only to lose it all to addiction before rising again with a new dream.
Drug-free and alcohol-free since August 1, 2008, Chris refocused his life to put his sobriety and family above all else. Three years later, he formed The Herren Project to increase education and public awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and to assist one person, one family at a time, through a combination of treatment navigation, educational initiatives, mentoring and public awareness. Taking the first step to the road to recovery can be difficult, especially when faced with securing affordable, quality treatment solutions.
The Herren Project can help you or a loved one navigate the treatment facilitation process to find effective treatment programs for addiction. The first step is to ask for help or be open to receiving assistance. Since 2011, The Herren Project has helped over hundreds of families navigate the alcohol and drug treatment spectrum of care and has secured over $1 Million in quality rehabilitation services or after care for those suffering from substance abuse. The Herren Project’s programs and initiatives are a direct response to the increasing number of young people across the United States that are experimenting, using and suffering from addiction to drugs and alcohol; or are at risk for such abuse. Together we can make a difference, celebrating life and supporting one another.
