The Library’s huge book sale is this weekend (http://westportlibrary.org/support-wpl/book-sales) and volunteers are still needed on Saturday between 12:00 – 5:00 PM, Sunday between 1:00 – 5:00 PM and takedown on Tuesday between 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Ideally, volunteer shifts last a minimum of two hours. People interested should contact Suzy Hooper at [email protected]. Volunteer with friends and/or meet your neighbors!
The skinny: Over 300 volunteers organize and run annual book sales for the Library. Books are donated throughout the year by members of the community and all proceeds benefit the Library. Over 100,000 books will be offered this weekend. The sale begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning but the line begins forming by 7:00 AM. Book dealers/lovers, educators, parents, etc. come from all over.
Where else can you purchase gently used (sometimes NEW) books for $1.00 – $3.00 each (excluding specialty items, of course (http://westportlibrary.org/sites/default/files/webfm/files/book%20sales/2017/2017%20Featured%20Specials%20Final.pdf)
Plus: Monday: EVERYTHING IS HALF PRICE and TUESDAY: Bring your own bags and take what you wish: suggested contribution is $5.00 per bag!
New this year: A holding tent near Taylor Place (open only to pedestrian traffic) to hold book purchases so patrons can easily cross over to Main Street to enjoy The Fine Arts Festival.
