How did you end up where you are now in your current passion project? I actually have two passion projects out at the same time! Satisfied, my new documentary, is about the fight to have a family and the miracle of holding onto one while chasing your dreams. For me, that meant balancing the role of a lifetime in Hamilton with the role of a lifetime at home—being a wife and mother. It’s a raw, honest story, and scoring it with original music from my debut album, Who I Really Am, felt like the perfect fit. These are the most personal stories I’ve ever shared, and I can’t wait for people to experience them both when Satisfied plays in theaters September 30th through October 2nd.

Best show/book lately? I’m devouring Season 3 of The Gilded Age. It’s a visual feast, and the cast is packed with New York theater royalty. On my nightstand? Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean Series about an underestimated young woman who proves herself a fierce warrior through the power of her spirit—and a dragon!

One food you couldn’t live without? Tostitos Bite Size. Perfect ratio of chip to salt. Good even when there’s no dip.

Greatest fear? Anything that harms my family.

Talent you’d most like to have? Discernment in prioritization. Imagine knowing what actually matters, and what doesn’t.

If you didn’t live where you do, where would you ideally be? Next door. I love my neighborhood that much.

Greatest indulgence? First-class seats—but only if there’s a lie-flat pod. Every mother deserves a few hours in a pod.

Greatest extravagance? The money I pour into making music. It’s actually an investment, but it brings so much joy, it feels like a splurge.

Heroes—fictional and real? My real hero is my husband. (My kids will get their capes eventually, but I’m giving them a little more time before I tie them on.) My favorite thing about my documentary, Satisfied, is showing the world how beautifully he flies.

One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’ve spent most of my career singing other people’s music, so people are often surprised to learn that I’m also a lyricist. My debut album, Who I Really Am, is the first time I’ve really shared that gift on a large scale—telling my own story in my own words.

Quick This or That (Lightning Round):
At a movie: Popcorn and candy. Savory and sweet—like me.
Cook or order in? Order in—life is short, and menus are long.
Game night or movie night? Movie night.
Ketchup or mustard? Mayo!
TikTok or Insta? Insta—It’s what I know best.
Stream a movie or go to the theatre? The theatre. Every. Single. Time.
Text or call? Call—I’m a talker.
Sauna or cold plunge? Sauna. Why suffer on purpose?
Sauce on top or on the side? On top and on the side. I’m saucy.
Beach or mountain? Mountain. It’s the climb.
Comedy or drama? Dramedy. Life is both.
