Meet Kitt! - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? I have lived in Westport for 18 years with my husband and our blended family. My children – ages 28 and 23 and his – ages 28 and 26.
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? At the beginning of this year, I bought the boutique WEST on the Post Rd in Westport. I was a customer and fan of the store founded by Westporter, Laura Maged, and when she moved to California, I stepped in because I feel passionate about this community and local business.
What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? Since my kids are now adults, we love to dine out with them al fresco at the many cool places to eat in our area.
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? Instagram! Both personally and for my businesses (I have an accessories company (Simply Eartha) in addition to the store). It’s where I get so much inspiration. It is important to remember that what you see on Instagram is not always the reality, so don’t internalize other people’s outsides!
What’s your can’t live without beauty product? Bali Body BB Cream with SPF 15. I always wear sun protection because my father died from skin cancer.
If you could pick one restaurant or store to come to Westport that isn’t here now, what would it be, and why? True Food Kitchen!!! My husband has actually reached out to their COO and sent them some information about Westport. Fingers crossed!
What are you most excited about in life right now? This chapter of my life right now is pretty exciting. At 57 years old, starting a new career path owning a retail store, something I never even dreamed about doing, yet is so perfect for my skill set, passion for fashion and shopping local. As I now say, “It is never too late to start something new!”
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? That I was a competitive figure skater.
If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been? Law enforcement. As a kid, I dreamt of being a cop or FBI agent. Of course, I was quite a force to be reckoned with, in those dreams! 🙂
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? A 24 hour binge of playing board games, pizza and donuts with family.
What is your most marked characteristic? My positivity. Thanks to my mother, I understand the power of gratitude and feeling blessed, every day. That, in itself, puts a smile on my face, every day, and consequently creates more to be grateful for. Smile. It may change someone’s life. Maybe even your own!
What was your most memorable family vacation and why? Cuba. We were fascinated by its history, and the many hidden artistic and gastronomic gems we were introduced to in the city of Havana.
What is your proudest mommy moment? As a parent of millennials, when you hear that your children are kind, you feel a sense of pride. That, is the best!
What do you most value in your friends? A sense of humor.
What is your greatest regret? No regrets. Only lessons learned.
