Meet Jenae - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? We’ve lived in Westport for four years and my kids are Stella (13) and Hudson (8)

How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? 17 years ago while I was a Creative Producer and Live Event Director for an organization in the Midwest, I decided to start taking pictures as a way to fill a creative itch. I ended up liking even more than I thought I would, so when I moved to Westport I decided to do it full time!

What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? We love going to the beach right before sundown with ice cream!

What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? The kids love Roblox and I’m loving my Apple News app which I get my magazines through.

What’s your can’t live without beauty product? Beauty Counter’s overnight resurfacing Peel. It’s free from all sorts of weird stuff and it works like magic….

If you could pick one restaurant or store to come to Westport that isn’t here now, what would it be, and why? True Food because it is healthy and VERY good. (WE agree!)

What are you most excited about in life right now? Even though the world feels like it’s going crazy, I’m really excited about all the new things that are being created in an answer to the chaos. I believe that change and creative ideas most often come from hard times. Artists make confusing times clear.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I’m going to study to become a spiritual director. I find it fascinating to walk alongside someone asking questions about faith or life.

If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been? I have always wanted to be a Today Show anchor on NBC. Maybe I would have done that, but I’m not a morning person so who knows how that would have worked out!

If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? Walk around NYC by myself and pretend to be a street photographer.

What was your most memorable family vacation and why? We recently went to Maine and we loved it because it felt like we were breaking out of the house into freedom. The Cliffhouse in Maine made our quarantine dreams come true

What is the best white lie you have told your kids? That Captain Crunch is an adult cereal and oatmeal is for kids. It actually worked until this year!

What is your proudest mommy moment? When my daughter confronted a family member who was saying unkind things.

What do you most value in your friends? I value honesty and I admire when folks are at home in their own bodies and that they love their life.

What is your greatest regret? I regret nothing. It’s all shaped me and made me who I am. I grateful for the mistakes.
