Meet Jeannette! - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? We have lived in Westport for 5 years, and my kids are 8, 6 (almost 7) and 4
What has been the most difficult age with your children to date? What helped you overcome the challenges at that time? I think the pre-school years were the toughest. All of my kids were on different schedules. Having a sitter who could be home with whoever needed napping was key!
What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? We love enjoying the seasons in Westport. We love boating and Compo beach in the summer, apple and pumpkin picking in the fall, skiing in the winter and hiking/ biking in the spring.
What was your most memorable family vacation and why? My husband owns a company, Floto, that makes leather bags in Italy. We took the kids to Italy last summer, and they saw where their dad’s factories were and I think it was cool for them to learn a little bit more about what he does. Plus they couldn’t get enough of the pizza, pasta and gelato!

What is the best white lie you have told your kids? If you don’t sit in your car seat and buckle in the police are going to arrest mommy.
What is your proudest mommy moment? Hearing that my kids did something nice for someone else. The best compliment I can get about my kids is that they are kind and polite.
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? I’m loving Instacart. It’s a game charger to be able to have groceries, prescriptions and other supplies delivered right to your door from places like Whole Foods, CVS, Costco and Stew Leonard’s
What’s your can’t live without beauty product? I’m obsessed with the Skincuticals line of anti-aging skincare. After years of neglecting my skin I’m finally making it a priority. Oh and I won’t go anywhere without mascara!
What’s your favorite restaurant for a family dinner? We love Bar Taco, Brick and Wood in Fairfield and the Little Barn. A night out with friends? The Whelk, Oko, Artisan and GreyGoose.
What are you most excited about in life right now? I’m excited that I’m at really great place with my kids right now. They are pretty easy and really enjoy doing stuff together as a family.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I had open heart surgery 2.5 years ago. During a routine chest x-ray after having pneumonia, doctors detected an aneurysm in my main descending aorta. There are no symptoms for this condition. Usually it just ruptures and you have very little time to make it to surgery. I’m very lucky to be alive- something I think about almost every day.
If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been? I’d still be doing global brand advertising.
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? I’d hop a plane to any place I’ve never been because I love to travel and explore.
What is your most marked characteristic? I moved around a lot in my life so I’ve developed a friendly and outgoing personality.
What do you most value in your friends? Honesty and a great sense of humor.
What is your greatest regret? Not meeting my husband earlier…💗
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? I grew up in New Canaan, but love calling Westport home. I really enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for this wonderful place we are are lucky enough to call home and I can think of no better job than helping people find their perfect place in Westport and Fairfield.
