How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? My daughter Clara is 2 and a half, and we have one on the way! (due first week in September). My husband Doug and I moved to Westport Summer 2018 – so this summer will be 4 years!
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? I decided to switch up my career relatively early on and ditched the advertising/PR industry to go back to school for my Master’s degree in Interior Design while I was living in Chicago (where I’m from originally). I worked for a few well-known designer firms in Chicago. When we picked up and moved to New York City, I decided to go out on my own. I grew up with parents in the industry and have always loved it. It’s in my blood!
What was your best memory from 2021, a strange year we know…My best memories are the beach days with Clara and Doug, Clara’s 2nd birthday party, creating new friends, obsessing over my garden and learning to play polo. Professionally, we installed two large projects that I’m really proud of.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022? SUMMER in Westport and welcoming a new member into our family in September. Professionally, I’m looking forward to a large project being published and photographing my home.
What is the best show you have recently (binge) watched? AND/OR what is the last book you read? I just finished Sapiens and it was a fascinating read! Currently, I’m reading The Last thing He Told Me – and it’s a quick, fun read and I’m watching Bridgerton!
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? Personally – Pinterest, TSS (The Sculpt Society), Realtor.com, A LOT of action. I also love the Breathe app and they have some great content for kids.
Clara loves the Hello Everybody (Music Together App) and the Wild Symphony App which connects to Dan Brown’s book. I’m always finding cute toys and crafts on Etsy for her. Viewclix is an awesome app/device we use to send photos and stay connected to Grandparents.
Professionally, I love the 1st Dibs and Chairish.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I play polo and I love Karaoke!
If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been? Landscape Design – which I hope to do one day.
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted to do, what would it be? Go on a long walk with Clara and Doug, get a massage, lay on a sunny beach and read a book, go for a horseback ride and then cap off the evening with an amazing meal with my husband, friends and a great bottle of wine.
What was your most memorable family vacation and why? We love our family trips to Nantucket every summer. Laid back fun and beautiful beaches.
Are you a morning person, or a night owl? How does sleep fit into your life right now? I’ve morphed into a morning person due to motherhood and having a husband who is obsessed with sleep. We really value our sleep over here so pray for us come fall.
What thing has surprised you most about being in the suburbs? That I rarely miss the city. Also, that I absolutely love to garden. Would anyone else love a fun Gardening Club in Westport? Just me?
What is the first thing you do when you walk in the door after a long day? Squeeze Clara. We either bake, do an art project or cuddle up and watch a movie. In the summer after nap, we always throw on our suits and go to the pool at the Hunt Club.
Who in your life was – or is – the greatest inspiration for what you’re doing today? My little family inspires me. I’m always trying to create the most beautiful and joyful life I can for them and myself.
