Meet Dori! - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport?  My daughter Mia is 9.  My son Jonah is 7.  We’ve been in Westport since 2012.
What has been the most difficult age with your children to date? What helped you overcome the challenges at that time? The Preschool Ages 2-4 were tough.  My kids are two years apart so I always felt torn in many directions.  A very supportive husband, deep breaths, wine and the knowledge that each new source of anxiety was probably just a phase
What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns?  We love bowling, Hands on Pottery and eating crazy pancakes at Chipps.
What was your most memorable family vacation and why? We are taking it this summer!  We’re going to Israel with my parents.  It’s the first time for my children.  My dad is Israeli so for my kids to see where he grew up and bridge the generations will be life-changing.
What is the best white lie you have told your kids? If you fight in the car, the police will arrest me.
What is your proudest mommy moment? Seeing them express compassion and kindness.
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids?  For me definitely Instagram-  I take so much inspiration from it.  For my daughter it’s music.ly.  For my son it’s Pokemon Go!
What’s your can’t live without beauty product? I’ve got a couple.  I love GrandeLASH for my eyelashes and Kopari Coconut Body Glow.
What’s your favorite restaurant in town for a family dinner? A night out with friends?  For a family dinner, we love Shu, Fin, and Bar Taco in the summer.  For a night out, it’s Kawa-Ni!
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I lived in Switzerland until l was 5.
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? Hmm.. not 100% sure but it would involve pampering and a long walk on the beach!
What is your most marked characteristic? Loyalty
What do you most value in your friends? Loyalty, unconditional love and openness.
What is your greatest regret? Fear holding me back
What is one piece of advice you would pass along to other moms? Be present.  The days are long but the years are short.
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? I am so lucky to be combining my passion with my experience.  Having a wonderful mentor like Jamie Camche has expanded my horizons.  I’ve always loved jewelry and have been a JL Rocks customer for many years.  One day Jamie and I decided to team up and now, 4 years later, I am what she calls “the face” of JL Rocks.   I get to work with customers, design new collections, work on charitable projects, help with marketing and so much more!  My professional background pre-children was always with luxury retailers so this is a natural fit.
