Meet Kelsey Morey, Founder of Haus of Pretty salon and beauty brand. The flagship studio is located in the charming Saugatuck subsection of Westport, in front of the Westport train station. Her salon focuses on custom balayage hair color and event styling artistry. The beauty company has a Williamsburg vibe and showcases earth friendly products. She spends her days creating art on living canvases- while managing a chronic disease. Kelsey also has Type 1 Diabetes.
Type 1 Diabetes is genetic and can happen to anyone at any time in their lives. Contrary to popular belief, it is not something that is caused by diet or lack of exercise. Those with Type 1 must take insulin injections to cover carbs they eat and stabilize blood sugar. People with Diabetes can live normal lives, but the disease requires daily management, adjustment and preparation. It can be serious if blood sugar highs and lows aren’t treated immediately and correctly.
This year, Kelsey is honored to be the keynote speaker at the annual JDRF Catwalk Fashion Show event held at Abigail Kirsch’s The Loading Dock on March 7th, 2019. Her company will also be offering complimentary makeup touch ups for attendees during the cocktail hour. This is a fabulous event that raffles off designer handbags during a fun cocktail hour with popular vendors and showcases a professional runway fashion show while a course luncheon is being served. The grand prize at the raffle this year is a stunning diamond necklace! Even if you can’t attend the event, you can still support JDRF and enter to win raffle items. Attendee and raffle tickets can be purchased at the link below.
