Easton Country Day is a small, independent, coeducational school for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. ECDS was founded by educators who wanted the best possible academic and social foundation for their own children, in a learning environment where the values taught at home were echoed and strengthened. We seek to enable students to develop their full potential; academically, morally, creatively and physically, in an environment that fosters respect and loving kindness. Our aim is to promote excellence in individual academic achievement in the context of the school motto “Responsibility, Integrity, Community – Praxis.” ECDS works to cultivate mutual respect, kindness, and civic responsibility in a multicultural environment. We encourage the development of competent, caring, and responsible human beings.
We seek to raise our children in an atmosphere of love and safety, where exploration is encouraged, and kindness is required. Children benefit from our vertical integration of studies, often going to other classrooms to take the level of instruction that they are ready for, regardless of their age. Small classes and a low student/teacher ratio allow each child plenty of individual attention. Highly qualified, talented teachers encourage students to progress at their own pace, with individualized lessons and many hands-on projects.
Additionally, we offer a unique program designed exclusively for the highly gifted child. This program is the only one of its kind in New England. It combines appropriate socialization and advanced studies, and even offers high school level courses to those with appropriate grade level abilities. We encourage these children to branch out into other areas, all designed to take advantage of and enhance the growth of the gifted child. Children with gifts in art or music find exceptionally advanced classes available to them as well. We have found that the integration of this unique program within the school culture is highly beneficial to all the children in Easton Country Day.
ECDS maintains an active partnership with our family of parents. We work with the parents in setting and maintaining standards of conduct and attitude that reflect individual beliefs in a socially responsible manner. We have a non-sectarian spiritual environment where parents and children honor their own beliefs, and value and respect those of others. Easton Country Day works to build a multicultural community by attracting children with talents capable of meeting the challenges inherent in our rigorous educational environment.
ECDS offers a small high school, highly academic but cozy, where everyone knows your name! Our small groups do high school in a personal and very different way, where individuality is honored and personal respect for and between students is the norm. We offer courses from individual tutoring all the way to AP and college courses. Come and see if this is for you!
Little Phoenix is our Pre-school & Daycare. Little Phoenix offers a comprehensive early childhood program providing exceptional, affordable care to children aged 6 weeks through 6 years.
