How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport/the area? I have a 15 month old son. I worked in Westport for a few years before deciding to move to Connecticut from NY. After connecting with so many patients and the community, I fell in love with the area and decided to move here with my husband and son this summer!
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? I am a Board certified Family Medicine physician- Trained in both adult and pediatric medicine. I have truly found a passion for my career through years of practice and forming connections with my patients and their families. I love being able to treat all different generations (from grandparents to babies and everyone in between). I am excited to be able to live in and feel connected to the community that I plan on serving for many years to come. I enjoy growing alongside my patients while being a resource for them as they navigate their personal wellness goals.
I have practiced in many different areas including upstate NY, the heart of Manhattan, and the suburbs of Connecticut. I am happy to plant my roots now with One Medical – Westport, which is a brand new (gorgeous) office that offers an exciting new take on everything we love about primary care. One of the coolest things about One Medical is the fact that patients can be seen at any of the offices in the country (there are over 200 of them!) I have so many patients living in Connecticut and working in NYC, so this has been crucial for coordinating care.
What is your greatest fear? Not being able to live up to the standards my parents set by being such incredible parents. Being a new mom comes with a whole new world of self doubt and worrying if you’re making the best decisions for your kids, which I am sure we can all relate too. Having been blessed with the most phenomenal and supportive parents, I am so thankful to have the framework of what it means to be the best mom and hope that I can be just as amazing for my son someday.
What is your greatest indulgence? An All-inclusive resort on a beach
What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? I was a complete punk rocker as a teenager! The music, fashion, concerts, tattoos ..I loved it all. I grew up with a mom who loves classic rock, and that shaped my love of music from a young age. Thankfully my husband also loves rock so we never fight over the radio in the car.
What is your favorite family tradition? Picking out and decorating a Christmas tree! These are some of my fondest memories as a child and it is something I can’t wait for my son to experience this year for the first time
Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest? My Grandmother Leila, who passed away when I was still in medical school. She was the most adoring and supportive grandmother, I would love to be able to share stories with her about my experiences as a doctor and as a new mom.
Are you a morning person or a night owl? How does sleep fit into your life? I was a complete night owl in my youth but now I long to be in bed by 930pm. I have a new appreciation for sleep as it has become a coveted (often elusive) commodity in our house. I really do prioritize a healthy sleep schedule and preach to my patients that good quality sleep is critical for optimal health and longevity. It governs our appetite, hormones, mood and immune recovery!
What one thing has surprised you most about being in the suburbs? How much I have missed it. I grew up on Long Island and my husband is from Massachusetts. We both always thought we could live in NYC long term, but being here has brought back such a sense of peace and serenity in our lives that we both feel at home again after being away for many years.
What is the first thing you do when you walk in the door after a long day? Hug my toddler for as long as he will let me until he squirms away!
