How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? I have 2 girls, Taylor (8 years old) and Dylan (6 years old). We moved to Westport 8 ½ years ago when Taylor was just 6 months old.
What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? A summer evening picnic at Compo. We don’t get to do it enough, but every time it makes me fall in love with Westport again.
What was your most memorable family vacation and why? Last year we went out to LA, explored for a few days there, and then drove to Tahoe to meet friends and ski. The car ride was 9 hours (with traffic and through a snow storm). It was a lot of family bonding we will never forget!
What is the best white lie you have told your kids?
“Netflix is broken.” – we actually disconnected it
“That’s chicken. Like the inside of a chicken nugget.” – it was fish
“Stop listening, I’m not talking about you.”
What is your proudest mommy moment? Every time I see my girls be loving towards each other and show kindness to others. My job will be done when they grow up to be best friends and they have become good human beings.
What’s your favorite restaurant in town for a family dinner? A night out with friends? Bar taco is our go to with the kids. Everyone is happy there! My fave adult spot is the Whelk. Can’t beat trout dip and a frogger, especially on a summer night!
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I am an absolute carb and candy-holic. On any given day you can catch me on the checkout line of Fresh Market with nothing but a huge French bread and a bag of bulk candy!
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? Go for a long run, then spend the day in NYC with my family exploring, and top it off with a great NYC dinner with my husband.
What is your most marked characteristic? Sarcasm. I think it takes people by surprise because they don’t expect it from me.
What do you most value in your friends? Their never-ending support and ability to make me laugh on a tough day.
What is one piece of advice you would pass along to other moms? Always be the person you hope your kids will grow up to be. As moms, we always have someone watching (and emulating) our every move.
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? From the time I was little I knew I wanted to be a doctor. Right after college I took a year off of the medical school track to make sure that I was making the right decision. In medical school I decided on emergency medicine – it seemed like the way to know a little about a lot of things and then use that knowledge to help my family and friends. It’s come in handy. After several years of being in the ER at Stamford Hospital I realized I needed to find something that kept me closer to home and had more reasonable hours for my girls. Luckily that is when I found Westport Urgent Care and have been here for 4 years now.
