Brooke Lynn Murray is a 10-year-old girl that loves performing! She is excited to play the title role of Annie in Downtown Cabaret’s upcoming theater production of ANNIE the Musical. Brooke Lynn knew at the young age of 3 that she wanted to be a performer. She was exposed to drama at her preschool, The Learning Experience and immediately she was hooked. At the age of 4, Brooke Lynn performed in her first play, Zoosical. Shortly thereafter, she was casted as the youngest Munchkin in Westchester Broadway Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. At age 9 she landed her first NYC off-Broadway role in KOTA’s production of Madeline’s Christmas.
So, what is like to work in the theater world when you’re just a kid? Well, she will tell you it’s super fun but, lots of hard work. She spends most of her time singing, dancing and acting. Oh, and then there is a lot of traveling in and out of NYC for lessons and auditions. She loves every moment and wouldn’t have her life any other way. Her favorite role to play is Annie because she loves the story. It’s about a girl who believes that life will turn out great if you just hang on and keep a positive attitude. When asked what she has learned from her young career she says, “Well, I find the more prepared you are, the less nervous and stressed you are”! Well, that will be a chapter in my book one day! Pretty wise words for a 10-year-old. When she is not acting you can find her making slime or following her favorite youtubers!
Annie runs November 30th – December 30th at the Downtown Cabaret. It’s located at 263 Golden Hill Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The show is double cast *Brooke Lynn will star in the following shows: 11/30, 12/2, 12/7, 12/9, 12/14, 12/16, 12/22 (both shows), 12/28, 12/30.
