Meet Andi - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? We moved to Westport almost 13 years ago when my kids were babies. My oldest daughter Riley is 13 now and my girl/boy twins, Kasey & Ryder, are 12. They’re 14 months apart so it was like having triplets. We rented here first to make sure we liked Westport and we fell in love with it and starting building our dream home.

How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? Once my kids got a little older I had a lot more free time so I started volunteering at their schools and donating my time to some local charities. My Football obsession grew during quarantine. Being from Boston, I was always a big Patriots & Tom Brady fan but once football started up again last Fall I just couldn’t get enough and began watching and learning about the players and the game. With no real ideas in mind, #AndiLovesFootball was born, gained some followers and became a lot of fun for me. So now the plan is to do something positive with it and help raise money for causes close to my heart. Right now that cause is Pinkaid. My aunt passed away last October from breast cancer and after learning more about Pinkaid, I had to get involved and it’s really changed my life for the better.
What was your best memory from 2020, a strange year we know…I think being with my kids so much. My husband and I were super strict with keeping the kids safe during Covid so we decided to go away and have them do school online. We rented an apartment so we were in closer quarters than we’re used to and I loved it. I’m not sure they’d agree, but I felt like we grew even closer.
What is the best show you have recently (binge) watched? I’m obsessed with Selling Sunset and Million Dollar Listing LA. I love seeing all the beautiful LA homes. I’m also obsessed with documentaries about sports and murders.
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? My favorite app is Instagram. I use it like Google. Anytime I need to find something out, I look there first.

What is one food you could not live without? My Mom’s lasagna and McDonalds

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I’m a huge Howard Stern fan. I don’t think I’ve ever missed a show and I’ve been listening since the 90’s.

If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been?  The way I feel about football makes me wish I had become some sort of a behind the scenes NFL reporter. Behind the scenes because I’m terrified of public speaking and I hate crowds.

If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted to do, what would it be? It would have to be warm out but I’d like to take a long drive alone, top down with my favorite playlist – a little Taylor Swift, a little Kid Rock…. One night alone in a beautiful hotel with a beautiful view – massage and room service. I’m an only child so time alone is crucial and rarely happens!

What was your most memorable family vacation and why?  We rented an apartment in Florida over January and February, and although we had many restrictions due to Covid, it was my favorite “vacation” to date. That time with my family, morning noon and night had its ups & downs, but was truly a gift.

What is the best white lie you have told your kids? That we have cameras all over the house with sound.

Are you a morning person, or a night owl? How does sleep fit into your life right now?  I’m definitely a morning person. I wake up at 4:30/5am for no reason. I love being awake before everyone else in the house. It’s so quiet outside. I like to get everything finished by noon….dinner around 6:30 and I’m in bed around 8pm most nights.
What thing has surprised you most about being in the suburbs? How little I walk. I love the suburbs but I’ve become a little lazier here. I use to walk 40 blocks to and from a dentist appointment in the city, and now I drive to my mailbox.
What is the first thing you do when you walk in the door after a long day? Shower, put on my pajamas and catch up with the kids
Who in your life was – or is – the greatest inspiration for what you’re doing today? My grandmother, who all of my friends and family called Nanny. She passed away almost 11 years ago but I was lucky enough to have her as long as I did. She watched me get married and saw me become a Mom. She lived with me growing up and I am so thankful for that time with her. I think about her everyday and sometimes have to remind myself that she’s not here. I can only hope she’s watching over us and is proud.
