Meet Kerri! - Westport Moms

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? I have a 15 year old daughter, a 17 year old son and a 25 year old daughter. I’ve lived in Westport for a year and a half (I lived in Weston for 15 years prior).
What has been the most difficult age with your children to date? What helped you overcome the challenges at that time? To be honest, every age is difficult! Every age comes with it’s own set of challenges –the challenges just morph from year to year. Life is complicated sometimes, but they all grow up to be great kids. Vodka on Friday nights helped me overcome.
What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? We all go for foot massages together at Sun Reflexology in Westport! It is the best!
What was your most memorable family vacation and why?  We all go to Anguilla together every year as a family. We make new memories every year – it is impossible to pick just one! It is always a treasured time.
What is the best white lie you have told your kids? If you swallow your bubble gum…(10 years to digest!!!)
What is your proudest mommy moment? Having my kids and their friends hang out with us by choice as they get older.
What’s your favorite app right now- for you- and for your kids? I love using Pic Collage for Instagram. I take so many pictures!
What’s your can’t live without beauty product? I can’t live without my signature scent: Le Labo – The Noir.
What’s your favorite restaurant for a family dinner? A night out with friends? We love Le Penguin in Westport (right in Sconset Square, near my shop). It is my go-to always for both family dinner and night out with friends. We are friends with the owner and know everyone who works there – it feels like our second home. We love having a casual dinner at the bar.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I love to collect cookbooks, and I am the absolute worst cook.
If you weren’t doing what you are today, what do you think your career path might have been? I’d want to be a famous chef in another life. I can’t cook at all.
If you had 24 hours to do whatever you wanted – what would you do? I’d lock myself in my studio and paint all day. Then I would end the night with a beautiful dinner with my family in our home.
What is your most marked characteristic? I am super approachable and love talking to people.
What do you most value in your friends? Honesty
What is your greatest regret? I used to let my fears control my life and I let this go on for way too long. I wish I had the guts to take the leap sooner.
What is one piece of advice you would pass along to other moms? All I can say is: Kids and life are always changing. Ride the waves and go with the flow.
How did you end up where you are now in terms of your job, or whatever passion project it is you might be doing? I have always been creative. I started out with a career in the fashion industry and then stopped for a while to be a mom. I started painting after I had kids—which soon led to designing interiors. I feel like my life has come full circle: My dream of opening a shop one day has come true. At my shop, I have all my loves under one roof: Interiors, Fashion and Art.
