When STOP Doesn’t Work @ Westport Library

Ann Rodwell-Lawton, associate director of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center and a local mental health clinician will discuss the generational impact of trauma on children with Liz Modugno, a licensed alcohol and addiction counselor. Their presentation will include:

  • Basic domestic violence  information
  • Statistics on generational impact of trauma
  • The domestic violence intersection with child abuse and neglect
  • How children are exposed
  • Short- and long-term reactions/responses
  • How to talk with children about domestic violence in age-appropriate way
  • Services provided by DVCC, Westport Human Services and other mental health professionals to help and support children
