Gardening for Birds, Bees & Butterflies @ Lachat Town Farm
May 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Help your local pollinators flourish with the help of Renee Marsh! This class will teach you how to grow a naturally healthy garden that will help birds, bees and butterflies thrive. Plus you will enjoy a garden with a stunning variety of flowers that bloom throughout the seasons. Plant selection, ecologically sustainable growing practices and habitat building will all be covered. You will also learn to recognize some of our common native species and understand their life cycles.
Renee is the owner of a gardening design business, A Simpler Place, as well as a horticulture and cut flower business, Hilltop Blooms. For five years she was the Head Gardener for the Town of Monroe where she designed and managed gardens at the parks and town buildings. She also teaches gardening classes for the New York Botanical Garden and writes on gardening topics for local publications. In her spare time she works on her 1803 homestead in Shelton, Connecticut.
The class is free to attend for Weston Garden Club and Lachat Community Gardeners. A $10 donation is kindly suggested for all other attendees. You will receive the Zoom info before the class.
