Abilis Offers Free Information Session on Maximizing Government Benefits for Young Adults with Special Needs Entering the Workforce
March 4 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Abilis, the nonprofit organization that provides services and support for individuals with special needs and their families, is hosting a FREE virtual information session – Maximizing Government Benefits for Young Adults with Special Needs Entering the Workforce – on Thursday, March 4, 2020, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The information session will be held on Zoom. The virtual webinar is designed to help parents, caregivers and young adults with special needs to learn to maintain their government benefits while having a job. For young adults with a disability, having a job is very important. It provides money, a sense of purpose, and responsibility. Entering the workforce can prompt many questions and concerns about how earnings from working may affect their Government benefits such as with Medicaid (HUSKY), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and SNAP. This information session is open to the public and offered at no cost. Seats are limited and registration is required. Please register at abilis.us/calendar.
