Meet Frontline Hero Larissa
Weston mom of two girls, Larissa is a real life hero on the front lines of this pandemic as a physician’s assistant at St.Vincent’s Medical Center. While her focus is typically caring for orthopedic, neurosurgery and trauma surgical patients, her new reality is temperature checks when walking into work, PPE of all sorts, supporting patients whose families can not be with them, and the ups and downs of a job where risking one’s own life to save others is part of the everyday.
Meet the Moms behind Food for the Front Lines
Local heroes come in many forms, especially during times like these. Superstar moms Nicole Straight (local site director for Food Rescue US) and Stephanie Webster (Founder and Editor of CTbites.com) teamed together in mid-March to keep local restaurants afloat and front line workers fed, and have raised over $100K doing so! Motivated solely by a desire to help – and a deep understanding of the role food and restaurants could play during this time, they collaborated and began one of the most remarkable fundraising efforts of this pandemic. Westport is lucky to call them our own! Donate today as they still need help – let’s keep these restaurants and our medical professionals on their feet!

How to Work Out at Home During Coronavirus Pandemic from Local Fitness Expert!
Welcome to our new normal. I’m a mom of two young boys in elementary school in Westport, CT, and due to a big outbreak of coronavirus here, we’re pretty much on lockdown. Schools and gyms are closed and restaurants are open for pick up/take out only. So, in addition to being a working mom, I’m now a homeschooler of two kids, a speech and occupational therapist, and a music, art, and Spanish teacher. One thing that’s keeping me sane (at least a little?!) during this unprecedented time is MOVEMENT. I am super grateful that it’s almost spring, and the weather is allowing us to get outdoors and PLAY. Even while social distancing, there are so many ways to keep moving!
