During this time, it’s become more difficult for people with arthritis to get access to the treatments they’re used to. We’ve all got a million things to do and many of us are stuck in our homes (thanks, Coronavirus). Luckily, there are some simple things you can do at home to help manage your arthritis symptoms and feel better.
Welcome to our new normal. I’m a mom of two young boys in elementary school in Westport, CT, and due to a big outbreak of coronavirus here, we’re pretty much on lockdown. Schools and gyms are closed and restaurants are open for pick up/take out only. So, in addition to being a working mom, I’m now a homeschooler of two kids, a speech and occupational therapist, and a music, art, and Spanish teacher. One thing that’s keeping me sane (at least a little?!) during this unprecedented time is MOVEMENT. I am super grateful that it’s almost spring, and the weather is allowing us to get outdoors and PLAY. Even while social distancing, there are so many ways to keep moving!
Our local retailers, service providers, and restaurants need our support to survive. The sharp decline in sales resulting from responsible “social distancing” can be catastrophic for small businesses running on tight margins. You can make a difference. We've created...

Here, our friends are Rehabilitation Associates, Inc. identify some common unhelpful beliefs about LBP and outline how they may influence behavioral and psychological responses to pain.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we are incredibly fortunate that Robyn – Weston mom of two and recent breast cancer survivor – has shared her story with us. It is a story about being pro-active, brave, vulnerable, and strong, while inspiring hope. Just over one year ago, Robyn’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and her journey to come out on the other side (filled with chemotherapy, hair loss, multiple surgeries and more), would not have been what It was without exercise, her friends and family, and her own unrelenting drive to be a survivor. Robyn’s story is raw…It is scary…It is real. But It is also a story about gratitude and one that should remind us women – and us moms – to trust our gut, to make ourselves a priority, and to never, ever give up.

With back to school activities and sports in full swing, we all want to keep our kids healthy and safe. So, we turned to Dr. Kate Mullin with the New England Institute for Neurology and Headache to find out what you need to know when it comes to preventing and treating concussions.
Katie is mom to two young boys, and is very excited to bring her experience as a registered dietician and wellness to her hometown, where she can help individuals and families looking to live a healthier lifestyle. After years in finance, she followed her passion for nutrition and wellness and spent time in NYC working with corporations on wellness in the workplace. Though Katie misses the city, and especially the Japanese handrolls from her favorite spot in Brooklyn, she and her family love being back! Katie is an organizer at heart, loves working with people, and is constantly coming up with creative ways to make eating more enjoyable for kids – and adults. We’re glad to have you back Katie!
