Camp Playland

Camp Awosting

  • Dates: June 24th-August 18th (2,4,6 or 8 week sessions)
  • Ages: 6+ (Boys only)
  • Description: A sleep-away summer camp for boys in Morris, CT! Camp Awosting is a traditional sleep-away camp for boys ages 6-16 on Bantam Lake in Connecticut run by the Ebner family for over 60 years. Life at Awosting is informal and friendly. What else would you expect from a family which has been raised at summer camp? Campers stay in cabins with boys their own age. Two counselors live in each cabin with the campers. All of the cabins are wood sided, carpeted and have toilets and sinks. Campers shower in one of the central and private shower houses. Over thirty activity areas are spread out on the nearly 20 acre campus and campers will try everything. This includes swimming, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, wake boarding, and riding go-karts. There is also have a climbing tower and zip line, martial arts, fencing, photography, video production, ceramics, drama and a wood shop where you can make just about anything. And don’t forget about basketball, baseball, soccer volleyball, football, lacrosse, rugby, cricket and track & field. Meals are kid-friendly, nutritious and family style in Awosting’s spacious dining hall. Counselors dine with and supervise the campers at each meal. In addition, there are special theme buffet dinners throughout the summer, many with their sister camp, Chinqueka.

Camp Compo

  • Dates: June 25th-August 10th (one week sessions); 9am – 3pm
  • Ages: Entering Kindergarten – 4th grade in 2018
  • Cost: $170 per camper per session
  • Description: A spectacular summer camp program, Camp Compo offers children a variety of activities throughout the summer.  The camp specializes in offering a well-balanced core of activities daily that includes arts and crafts, sports, games, yoga, beach and playground time. Camp Compo offers every camper the chance to be creative and explore their imagination while making new friends and enjoying a positive camp experience.  Several different special events will highlight each week as well.  Each camper must bring their own lunch and several drinks for the day plus towel, bathing suit and water shoes.  Severe inclement weather will cause the camp to cancel for the day or shut down if the program is already in progress.  There are no group placement requests accepted.

Norwalk YMCA (Camp Sunrise)

  • Dates: June 18th-August 17th
  • Ages: Completed Kindergarten – 9th grade (offers a counselor in training option)
  • Cost: $215 Regular Day / $245 Extended Day weekly; costs increase after 3/31!
  • Description: Camp Sunrise is an off-site day camp held at Silvermine Elementary School for grades K-9. Camp Sunrise is held daily Monday through Friday with two choices of camp day; a regular day of 8:00-3:00 and an extended day of 7:30-6:00 for an additional cost. The  program features Zumba, Yoga, Arts and Crafts, field trips to Beach, and a “Learning Lab” academic skills (STEM)  session four days a week in addition to outdoor and indoor athletic and social play. Field trips  to Wilton YMCA, Quassy, Calf Pasture Beach, My three sons and a trip to the movies.  Camp Sunrise also features Trailblazers program for sixth, seventh, eighth graders, CIT’s (grade 9). This gives young adults the chance to have a camp experience while learning responsibility and leadership skills from the senior counselors.

Tumble Jungle

  • Description: Our climate controlled facilities, amazingly fun equipment, and exceptional staff create the ideal children’s camp.   • Description: Our camps typically welcome Pre K-K at Jr. Eagles Camp, Soaring Eagles Gr. 1-4 (new) and our older camp (formerly Sports Camp) would be Gr. 5-8. Camps run daily at schools in Weston, we hire school staff and teachers handpicked from area schools, all camps feature time at the Weston pool and pond, with some ages receiving swimming lessons. Older groups will take weekly field trips.

Ambler Farm

  • Description: Adventures at the farm! This unique farm program provides an opportunity for students to experience farm life. Students will not only learn about the plants in our educational gardens but have opportunities to work in the gardens; spending time with our sheep and goats is a favorite activity as well as checking to see if our chickens have laid eggs. Baby chicks, rabbits and visiting animals provide engaging opportunities for kids to interact and learn. Each week includes woodworking, hayrides, planting, harvesting, hands on projects, animals, cooking and more! Students are divided by grade levels for appropriate activities, which will change each week for variety.

Lachat Town Farm

  • Description: The hours of this fantastic program are 8am – 1pm. On the first day the riders will be evaluated and either be placed in a private lesson or group lesson depending on level. The first three days of the week will be intensive riding lessons. Thursday will be Show Day, when everyone will receive ribbons and experience the thrill and excitement of being in a horse show! Finally Friday will be Gymkhana Day when the children play games on horseback in the riding ring. We will also bring in new elements to excite and surprise everyone at what they can achieve with horses. Wakeman Town Farm

  • Description: Wakeman Town Farm reopened in May, 2017 and offers an array of summer programs for participants at all ages and stages—from toddlers to teens. We believe in cultivating more than just our organic gardens. We cultivate a love for farm life, for animals, for homesteading skills, like canning and preserving the harvest, and for getting one’s hands dirty in the soil or in pie dough. Our campers learn an array of time-honored skills, like composting and seed saving, and about seasonal planting, cooking, nature, sustainability, and the simpler things in life—all via creative, hands-on activities. The programs are enriching and fun, and structured so that challenges are commensurate with a participant’s age and maturity level.

  • Ages:  Rising 1st-6th grade for camp; weekly classes include high school students and adults

  • Description: Summer Camp! Greatest Showman, Beauty and the Beast, Grease and Others! Theater Camp for Kids is an innovative, creative, play based camp where students of all levels and ages learn all about the Theater while having fun, playing theater games, improvisation, stage combat, set drawing and design. Students will be divided into three small groups by age Broadway singing, dancing and acting! Many of TheaterCamp 4 Kids! students have landed the leading roles in and Westport and other area schools and private productions! NYC too! This class is a creative, innovative way to learn all about the Theater while having fun! We are not a “factory” we let the children create in a nurturing, caring environment that allows them to gain confidence and have fun! Each and every child gets individual attention and has an opportunity to shine! “Mini Show” the last day of camp. In addition to summer camp, Theater Camp 4 Kids is now offering weekly classes during the school year, and day camps during most school vacations.
